Month 1—Strands
The first installment of the year-long project “This Is What I Can Do” is a series of cut-outs from discarded aluminum cans, particularly flavored seltzer water. Strung up on lengths of wire these strands can be reconfigured in any number of ways. They are un-site-specific. Materials used: aluminum cans, copper wire, and beads from my grandmother that I had been keeping for twenty years.
